I believe that studying the flute can be very beneficial to many aspects of one’s growth if teachers, students, and parents are all equally committed. Because of my beliefs, I have adopted the following studio policy. I ask that both parent and student read this policy together.
 
Required Materials
Lesson books (assigned on an individual basis)
Pencils and notebook
A flute in proper, working condition
  • World of Music (Erie, PA)
  • Fluteworld & JL Smith 
Cleaning cloth for both inside and outside of the instrument with cleaning rod Metronome/ tuner (apps are acceptable)
 
Tuition
Tuition/ payment is due at the beginning of each month unless a separate agreement has been made. You will receive an invoice at the first lesson of each month.
 
Your tuition includes:
  • Your weekly lesson (a time is reserved for you)
  • A variety of handouts and exercises created by the instructor
  • Assistance in purchasing new instruments along with music and necessary learning tools. (www.fluteworld.com; www.sheetmusicplus.com; www.flutespecialists.com)

Lessons are offered in increments of 30 or 60 minutes depending on the students age and ability.

Lesson Prices:
30 minutes - $25 per lesson
​60 minutes - $45 per lesson
 
Attendance
If you need to miss a lesson, you must give me 24-hour notice so that we can reschedule at no extra cost to you (emergency situations are understood). Failure to do so will result in being charged for that missed lesson!

​If I need to reschedule a lesson, I will let you know in advance and we will reschedule at your convenience.
 
Cancellations should be made by phone call or email.
 
Open Studio Policy
​Parents are welcome to observe lessons at any time and should feel free to come and go as they please. When students first begin taking lessons, I encourage parents to stay to learn effective ways to help their child practice at home. Practice strategies are determined on an individual basis and are modified to fit each student’s needs.
